Wendy has been my triathlon coach since 2010 when I decided to do my first Ironman. I had previously
met her and attended a triathlon camp that she led. I liked her coaching style, expertise and experience.
I had been doing shorter triathlons for quite a few years, so the Ironman distance was daunting for me.
Wendy put together a training plan for me that was challenging, but attainable. I felt great doing that
first Ironman and have since completed nine Ironman events and just recently qualified for the Kona
World Championship and was rated fifth in the World in the Ironman rankings.
One of the most beneficial things about working with Wendy is that she review my workouts and
comments about them. She adjusts future workouts based on my fatigue, where I am in my fitness level
and if I have personal obligations. She is responsive to my questions and changes in schedule. She
always accommodates any races or events that I want to do even though they may not be ideal to the
training plan.
I have come so far in training with Wendy. I started with sprints, Olympics, half Ironmans, and then
some full Ironmans. I have qualified and participated in several 70.3 World Championships and
Nationals. I have been on the podium for a lot of them and I credit Wendy’s coaching to getting me
there.
