I hired Wendy as my coach to start training for Ironman Florida. I have read at least 3 triathlon training books and felt comfortable writing out my plans, but I also have glass legs. Every season I end up with old injuries aggravated or new injuries to add to my collection.
The big difference I noticed right away was that Wendy asked questions and listened to me and incorporated that into my training. During the summertime I’m home with my kids and she had my training scheduled accordingly. I’ve had one coach before, but I was alway on his schedule.
Wendy did swim and run video analysis and a couple sessions in person. I liked how I was allowed to do more on the bike when I was feeling good enough. I include my children in extra zone 1 workouts and Wendy always encouraged it. She is also very responsive and commented on many of my workouts.
Wendy encouraged weights and mobility. When I stopped doing mobility, she added it to Training Peaks. I’m thankful for this the most because my glass legs did not end up with any new injuries. Thanks to Wendy’s training plan, I was able to hear Mike Reilly announce that I am an Ironman in one of his last few races before retirement.
